Sine wave filters are dU/dt filters which reduce the dU/dt values on the motor terminal phase-to-phase voltage. This improves phase-to-phase voltage ensuring its correct sinusoidal signal. The unwanted phenomena such as bearing currents or pulse voltage negative impact on the motor’s winding insulation are minimised, particularly for motors over 50kW.

Power range

  • 3 x 200 – 500 V, 2.5 – 1,200 A
  • 3 x 525 – 690 V, 13 – 1,320 A
    Enclosures

  • IP00 and IP20 in entire power range
    Mounting

  • directly next to the converter (‘side by side’) for filters up to 75A
  • on the wall for filters of rated current up to 75 A
    The best solution for:

  • Applications with older motors
  • Aggressive environment
  • Applications requiring frequent braking
  • 690 V applications with general purpose motors
  • Applications with long motor cables

Prevent disturbing pulses

The motor voltage sinusoidal signal reduces hysteresis motor heat losses and thus, the motor’s temperature increases. The temperature has a significant influence on the service life and durability of the motor’s insulation. In this way, the sinusoidal filters extend the motor’s service life. As mentioned previously, the motor voltage sinusoidal signal reduces bearing currents. In this way, the sinusoidal filter significantly reduces the damage caused to the bearings, extending the motor’s service life and intervals between maintenances.

Features and advantages

Quality and performance

Protects the motor against dU/dt stress which prolongs the service life and increases the motor’s efficiency. The enclosures are specially designed and made to match the frequency converters from the FC series not only due to their design but also quality and functionality.

Advantages:

  • Compatible and adapted to frequency converters in various modes (e.g. flux or WC+)
  • Provides the motor voltage sinusoidal signal
  • Overvoltage and dangerous surge noise elimination
  • Filter elements are designed in a way to dump and not convey impulse disturbances to the motor
  • Diminishes acoustic switching noise on the motor
  • Reduces losses on the motor
  • Parallel filter installation is possible with applications in the high power range
